Walnut Valley Festival Acoustic Kids

The Walnut Valley Festival Acoustic Kids is our longest-running program. We celebrated our 30th WVF Acoustic Kids in 2022!
Through the years, hundreds of musically-inclined kids have come through Acoustic Kids at Winfield. Most play music for the fun of it, and Acoustic Kids may be the only opportunity they will have to perform at a festival. We love providing this opportunity and seeing them grow from year to year as they return each September.
And some go on to a career in music. Past participants in Winfield’s Acoustic Kids include, among many others: Chris Thile, Sara Watkins, and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, Ethan Setiawan, Jacob Metz, Hudson Bosworth, Erin Mae, The Vogts Sisters, Evan Ogborn (of Pretend Friend), Kyle O’Brien, Sadie Gustafson-Zook, and Gwenyth Aggeler. You just never know who you’ll see for the first time in Acoustic Kids!
Winfield is also the home of our most dedicated fans: There are some who have never missed an Acoustic Kids Showcase there!
2025 Showcase Schedule:
Note the big change on Saturday!! We’ve moved the showcase from the morning to the afternoon to accommodate those kids (and their parents!) who want to jam in the campground well into Friday night/Saturday morning. Now you can do it all!
- Acoustic Kids Showcases – Stage 2, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Pre-showcase orientation at 9:00 a.m. behind Stage 2)
- Acoustic Kids Showcases – Stage 2, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Pre-showcase orientation at 1:00 p.m. behind Stage 2.)

Registration for next year’s showcases will open next July 1.
