…A beautiful, timeless sound. Andy’s light, bright mandolin picking sets the lead…, [and] it’s hard to hold your seat as Andy and the boys beckon you to get up and dance. “Dance of Life” is a light, enjoyable frolic through traditional mandolin standards. The musicianship is high, the original works strong and the [CD] is really a lot of fun.”

Bluegrass Unlimited

This 2011 reissue of Andy’s critically-acclaimed mandolin album is remastered, remixed, and as much fun as ever! The mostly instrumental CD mixes the fire of bluegrass with the more laid-back feel of New England country dance music. The reissue also features wonderful new artwork by music artist, Karen Cannon, and detailed liner notes.

Dance of Life was first released on cassette in 1987 and then on CD in 1999. The wonderful musicians who appear on these tracks were Andy’s band mates at the time – and his friends as well. Swallowtail Jig, a traditional fiddle tune that Andy arranged for mandolin and included on the album, has since become a standard for a new generation of mandolin players.
