From the Notes:

The music for this entire CD was recorded on Tuesday, February 15, 2000, between 10:30 AM and 9 PM. Curtis felt strongly that this CD should capture a live performance, so that’s how we set it up. The players were all in the same room so they could see and hear each other as they played, taking their signals from Curtis and keeping the music flowing. It was a terrific jam session! This project presents the musical point of view of a bluegrass master: The View from McPeake. Hope you enjoy it! — Andy May

For over 40 years Curtis McPeake has been well-respected in the realm of five-string banjo-playing, making his musical contributions with artists such as Bill Monroe, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, George Jones and Melba Montgomery, among many others. His talents were, for many years, a key ingredient in the sound of Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass’ stage shows and commercial recordings. Curtis McPeake has always possessed a truly unique style of playing the five-string banjo. This latest collection demonstrated the “McPeake Magic” is still there.
